💧 Ford Mondeo Mk4 Dpf Regeneration

My belief is that this is nonsense. Some DPF's have fluid, but it shouldn't be changed until at least 37500 miles anyway. My belief is that this engine's DPF doesn't have fluid, but injects Diesel into the oil/exhaust (I'm not claiming to be an expert!) to aid the combustion needed for regeneration. Recs may have a minor effect but you won't ever get the DPF up to 600C+ just by engine exhaust alone. DPF regenerations happen by extra fuel being injected in to the exhaust either through a dedicated fuel injector on the facelift mk4 or on the exhaust stroke for pre facelift. If you drive only short distances or your journeys contain frequent stopping and starting, you must initiate the regeneration process every 500-800 kilometres (300-500 miles). To do this, drive your vehicle at 80 km/h (50 mph) for 40 kilometres (25 miles) in the lowest possible gear whenever it is safe to do so. RK02O.
